Joseph Valencia, who lasted played Mesquite Creek Outfitters in Caldwell about a year ago, returned Friday evening. He played mostly Country, Folk and Americana covers, and this original written for his fiance.

Reports about live shows.
May Crow
May Crow is a Treasure Valley singer/songwriter who is not afraid to speak her mind on stage. I’ve always wanted to visit Wylie Records in Garden City, so May’s Saturday evening show was my excuse. She played an interesting mix of covers and originals, but when she suggested she was about to play her potential favorite original, I knew it was time to get the phone out. The tasty number is “Something To Eat”.
Jen & Johnny
Jen & Johnny, the Treasure Valley father/daughter indie/folk/Americana duo, performed an evening of music at the Brown Beard Taproom in Garden City on Friday. What I love about this duo is in two sets of music, I only knew ONE song. They pull in a lot of stuff from left field, and it’s all worth hearing. Here is one of Johnny’s originals.
The Leisure Bros
The Leisure Bros (Jordan on guitar and Jonah on percussion) played an evening of mostly upbeat classics at Talon Tap & Spirits inside Albertsons at Meridian Saturday. Along the way they covered Stealer’s Wheel, Hall & Oates, Stevie Wonder, Billy Ocean, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, Taylor Swift, Nancy Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and this from Jefferson Airplane.
Groove Alley
Groove Alley is Tony Rheault on Keyboard/Vocal, Jerry Coleman on Trombone, and Bruce Wehler on Drums. They played a little New Orleans Jazz, and a little Classic Rock at Swirl Wine Shop & Lounge Friday evening. Along the way they did this Fabulous Thunderbirds tune called “Walkin’ to My Baby”.
Steady Rush
Steady Rush, which is all about the steadiness of a heartbeat and the high of an adrenaline rush, played Maddie’s Wine & Whiskey Wednesday evening. We heard some great covers of Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, Dolly Parton, The Beatles, and this from Bryan Adams.
Steve DuBridge
Steve DuBridge, who plays homemade cigar-box guitars, did a show at Mesquite Creek Outfitters in Caldwell on Thursday, January 2, 2025. As you can tell, Steve has several, and most are tuned differently, allowing him to play different types of songs. During the evening, we heard music from artists like Arlo Guthrie, John Denver, Lovin’ Spoonful, lots of slider blues, and this Neil Young classic.
A Tasty Jamm
Formed in late 2009, A Tasty Jamm consider themselves more of a “remake” band than a “cover” band. They play mostly 70’s/80’s/90’s set lists, but they delve into other decades as well. On Saturday, January 18, 2025 I captured this Joni Mitchell classic at Voodoo Brewing in Meridian.
Soul Honey
Soul Honey is a Treasure Valley Rock cover band that has been playing together, off and on, for 15 years. They play for kicks and tips just because they love the music. From Broadway on the Rocks on Friday, January 27, 2025, I heard this from Stone Temple Pilots.
Good Time Charlie
Good Time Charlie, a country music singer/songwriter based in Idaho, did a show at Mesquite Creek Outfitters on Friday, January 10, 2025. Charlie is one of the hardest-working musicians I know, traveling a ton and doing 200+ shows a year. His writing is inspired by greats like Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings. “Out Here” is my favorite song as he expresses his love for Idaho.
