Corey James Grubb a Folk/Country/Blues musician from Mountain Home, played Mesquite Creek Outfitters in Caldwell Friday night. Corey has some impressive musical tricks up his sleeve like some fancy guitar picking and a pretty mean harmonica. Here’s a song about things he needs to quit.
The Earl Hughes Band (including several members hiding inside his tablet) played an evening of classic country music at The Dalton Royal in Meridian last night. Earl has played alongside dozens of famous musicians including Johnny Cash, Beach Boys, Don Ho! Here’s a Johnny Paycheck classic.
On Halloween night, Dave Nudo dressed up as Andrew Chappell (who was in the house) and took to the stage at The 112 in Nampa. In tow, was Dave’s friend Wolfman on the cajon. It was a wild night of country music with lots of dancing and a costume contest. Here’s Dave’s song “Fresh Ground” which can be heard on the TouchTunes app, which is a virtual jukebox.
The Moody Jews plays high-energy klezmer (Eastern European) music, jazz, Sephardic and Israeli tunes. This band was so much fun and there was so much variety in their music. Here is a heavenly tune they did Saturday night at Swirl Wine Shop and Lounge in downtown Nampa.

Specializing in jazz standards plus jazzed-up pop and country tunes, they performed Friday evening at Swirl Wine Shop and Lounge in Downtown Nampa. Ashley Rose is a jazz & soul-infused Americana musician based in Boise. She, and her friend Tim Green performed an evening of jazz standards at Swirl Wine Shop and Lounge in downtown Nampa. I’ve always loved the Billie Holiday classic “God Bless the Child”, and this duo really did it justice. Sadly, I LOST the video! :-(
Guitarist to the Stars, Gary Tackett and percussionist Grant Green, played Bourbon & Blues night at Maddie’s Wine and Whiskey Thursday evening. Gary is influenced by the powerful Electric and Acoustic work of Eric Clapton and the heartfelt songwriting of Merle Haggard. Speaking of Merle, here’s one of his songs, “Workin’ Man Blues”.
Spencer Batt is a Boise-based singer/songwriter who grew up in the hop fields of Idaho’s Snake River Valley. He specializes in taking songs we love and making them his own, influenced by 60’s and 70’s rock ‘n roll. Here is a sweet example of an Allman Bros song.
Rochelle & The James Gang, a local cover band, helped Swirl Wine Shop & Lounge welcome in Autumn on Thursday evening in Downtown Nampa. While shop patrons enjoyed the wine-tasting and food truck offerings, Rochelle and company entertained by delivering songs people love.
Andrew Cahill, a Boise-based singer/songwriter, played the picturesque Kindred Vineyards in Caldwell Sunday afternoon. He did mostly covers from artists like CCR, Elvis, Camp, Jason Mraz, Sam Cooke, Vance Joy, The Lumineers, George Ezra, and more. Along the way he showcased some of his music like “Barefoot in the Sand”.
