Gerimaya Whyte
Gerimaya Whyte, the one man live looping band, played Friday evening at Broadway on the Rocks, inside the Albertsons in Boise. I love watching loopers layer songs together, one “instrument” at a time. I put “instrument” in quotes because many of them are generated by something completely different, especially percussion. Here’s a Prince classic I captured.
Bobby Dee keys
Bobby Dee keys (from Rock DEE House Entertainment) along with his drummer Jesse, played to a small but lively group Wednesday evening at Las Calaveras Restaurant in Meridian. Bobby loves to play requests and lead off the evening with mine (Saturday in the Park). Here he does another outdoor song you’ll no doubt recognize.
Nathan Board
Nathan Board played a solo show Saturday evening at Mesquite Creek Outfitters in Caldwell. His music is a bit off the beaten path, as they say, playing music done by Townes Van Zandt, Post Malone, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Jeff Crosby, Pinto Bennett, Famous Motel Cowboys, Marty Robbins, and this one from The Eagles.
Scott Knickerbocker Band
The Scott Knickerbocker Band played an evening of traditional and original music Thursday evening at Boise Brewing in downtown Boise. In addition to Bluegrass and classic Country music, Scott and company played this song written on the banks of the Salmon River in Stanley called Hello Red Fox.
Hecktor Pecktor
Hecktor Pecktor, the alter ego of Boise singer/songwriter Brian Peck, played a solo show at Kerry Hill Winery Sunday afternoon. After hearing covers from the likes of Tom Petty and Bob Dylan, Brian did “Steady At My Side“, a song written for his wife.
