Brook Faulk & Zac Roberts teamed up to bring some music to Talon Tap & Spirits (inside Albertsons in Meridian) on an early Saturday evening. Zac was her guitarist years ago before he left the area. He has returned, they are reunited, and the music is great. From her first album, here’s Arsenic.

Lindzey Autumn is a treasure valley singer/songwriter who juggles that with being a wife, and mother of a high-energy toddler. She played her brand of country/folk music at The Getaway Bar & Grill in Nampa Friday evening. The Getaway is hosting music all summer on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. During her first set, Lindzey did “Dollar Sign” about her past struggles with taking her career to the next stage.

Jerry Nelson, a 50-year old trucker and singer/songwriter, played a few hours of Country and Folk Music Friday evening at Crescent Brewery in Nampa. Jerry, from Caldwell, writes songs about people he’s met, places he’s been, and things he’s done. Here’s an original called “My Cowboy”

Buckin’ Country, performing Country Western music mixed with a little classic rock, played the Nampa Eagles Lodge on Saturday the 19th. You can catch them at local bar and rodeos, anywhere you need to get the party started. Here’s a little Johnny Lee.

Dry Buck is a Treasure Valley Bluegrass band. They played a lovely Sunday afternoon on April 13th at Indian Creek Winery in Kuna. This outdoor venue is my favorite place to sit in my lawn chair and enjoy some music. Check out Bill Monroe’s “Memories of You”.

Katie Garonzik and Jim Kloss played mostly jazz standards on Saturday, April 12 at Rembrandt’s Restaurant in Eagle. Katie is a Boise native with was raised in a musical family. Her band (The Half Maccs) also plays around the area, and I hope to catch them soon.

Gerimaya Whyte, the one man live looping band, played Friday evening at Broadway on the Rocks, inside the Albertsons in Boise. I love watching loopers layer songs together, one “instrument” at a time. I put “instrument” in quotes because many of them are generated by something completely different, especially percussion. Here’s a Prince classic I captured.

Bobby Dee keys (from Rock DEE House Entertainment) along with his drummer Jesse, played to a small but lively group Wednesday evening at Las Calaveras Restaurant in Meridian. Bobby loves to play requests and lead off the evening with mine (Saturday in the Park). Here he does another outdoor song you’ll no doubt recognize.
